Calier

For the past few weeks I have been working on a farm situated in the beautiful though harsh Braes of Glenlivet. To gain the trust of local farmers can be a tough one… so handling livestock, telling off a 1000 kilo bull, and generally coming home stinking of poo has put me in good stead with the locals!

Tomnarieve is a leased farm which is owned by the Glenlivet Crown Estate and has been worked by the same family for many generations. Widely regarded as the toughest place to work livestock, it takes strong willed and patient character's to survive in this demanding Cairngorm landscape. The aim of this photo essay is to document the family who live and work at this farm.
